Sixth Forms

Sixth form colleges can be stand-alone or can be attached to a secondary school. They are primarily for 16-19 year olds.

Further Education Colleges

Offer a range of courses for learners age 16+ and adults.

Apprenticeships and Traineeships

Colleges and training providers which offer the training element of apprenticeships (work with training) and traineeships (pre apprenticeships).

SEND

Providers with a dedicated offer for learners who have an EHCP or require SEN support.

Specialist Colleges

These are colleges and training providers which have one specific focus e.g. music, land based, performing arts, sport or media.

Personal Development Providers

These are small providers offering specific courses aimed primarily at young people not currently in education, training or work.

Higher Education and Universities

Higher Education & Universities offer courses at L4 and above.

Careers and the World of Work

Representation from employers and the world of work from across Sussex.

Usually a two year programme of study.

Entry level/Level 1

Short courses at entry level plus personal development courses.

Degree & Foundation

Bachelor’s degree, foundation degrees, Degree Apprenticeships and Foundation Courses.

Access courses

Access courses are for 19+ students.
