University of Brighton 
Summer School Online events ( 

University of Surrey - summer school for care experienced learners Y9-Y11

New for 2021, this summer school is available for students with experience of looked after care and are currently in Years 9 to 11 at school. This opportunity will enable students to gain an insight into the life of a student within a supportive environment, finding out what it is like to study at university by talking to current university students with similar experiences whilst trying their hand at a range of exciting subjects and activities. During the evenings there will be a variety of social activities held on the university campus, or in the surrounding area.

The summer school runs over three days and two nights and will give students the opportunity to stay in university accommodation. To book, complete the form here:

GBMET Creative Arts Summer Workshops 

West Durrington Campus, Wednesday 23rd and Thursday 24th June, 10am to 3pm

A 2 day programme of fun and interactive creative workshops in Art & Design, Photography and Music

Suitable for school leavers and young people on Level 1 and Level 2 programmes. Sign up here 

National Citizens Service (NCS)

Designed specially for 16 and 17 year olds, the NCS experience will give you a clearer idea of what you want from your future. With programmes all over the country, visit the website to check what is on offer near you.

A bespoke careers event with a variety of spaces to meet the needs of a diverse cohort of learners. Young people can participate in interactive activities, speak to future employees and get a taste for the pathways open to them locally click here.

Things you can do independently: 

Role Models 

Interactive workbooks and films made by university & college students for younger learners. Using their knowledge and experience, the students share things they wished they’d known when they were younger. Workbook topics include: Body Image, Fake News, Worry, Climate, Wellbeing and more…  Find out more here.
