Supporting Careers Beyond Covid

Get Career Confident is excited to announce its involvement in Careers Beyond Covid (CBC), a new skills and employability programme funded by the European Social Fund.

Careers Beyond Covid will support 16- to 30-year-olds who have been disproportionately affected by the pandemic to gain vital work skills and experience and, ultimately, secure employment. Running until the end of 2023, it will offer free support to 650-plus young people, connecting them with employers from across the Coast to Capital area, which covers the Gatwick corridor, Crawley, Brighton & Hove and along the coast to the Chichester region.

‘CBC builds on the expertise and experience gained by Get Career Confident (GCC) in its work with students and will be delivered by our partner Elev8Careers,’ says Charlie Field, GCC’s Project Manager. ‘Young people wanting to enter or re-enter the workforce and meeting the project’s criteria will be offered one-to-one support from highly qualified careers advisors, and access to employability workshops and virtual and real-world work experience’  The programme will also offer free support to employers to help them engage with and recruit a diverse range of job-ready young people and, by providing peer mentoring, work-based coaching, and health and wellbeing support, to retain and develop their new employees.
